What We Do

The problem statement:

The HIV/AIDS pandemic has created a population that is living chronically ill and is likely to feel helpless and with little hope for the future. The social services may be available but not optimal to offer them psychosocial support. This therefore presents an old but growing challenge to the health workers and the health-care systems, particularly in resources poor settings. Thus the need for PSMP.

PSMP - A brief synopsis

PSMP (Positive Self Management Programme) is a comprehensive a formal training offered by Kadama Widows Association. It is tailored to deal with and explain to clients all aspects to life as a PLWHA.

PSMP is an expert patients programme (EPP), an initiative that helps people living with long-term conditions to maintain their health and improve their quality of life through self management courses. In particular PSMP is prototyped to help HIV positive individuals overcome their challenges and enable them take control of their conditions.
