Esther is a daughter to Late Kitawu Moses and Kitawu Nalugwa. She comes from Namukaluke zone, Kadama Sub County Kibuku District. Both parents died when she was in P.7 but she failed to continue due to financial constraints.
It was n 1995 that she started getting an unconscious strange sickness which was later diagnosed as epilepsy. In 2001, she conceived and gave birth to a baby girl. In total, she has three children, 1 boy and two girls. Afterwards, epilepsy became severe and she started being attacked constantly to the extent that she fell into fire as she was cooking food for her family and her whole body got burnt and was permanently left with a scar on her body and face.
This abrupt disease made her helpless since she could not concentrate on any gainful activities yet her children needed help as the boy had developed hernia; which needed an operation and used to fall sick every now and then. Esther is a casual labourer who stays in a grass thatched hut with the children which also acts as the kitchen at the same time.
It was then that Kadama Widows Association came to offer her with medical care and support. KWA is proud to note that she is under the Adult Literacy class, closely monitored and visited by KWA.
Esther is very happy and grateful as she reports, “I am very happy and grateful to KWA for all the help given to us” says Esther.
